Until recently, Andrey had trouble getting out of bed in the morning. But something happened, and now Andrey, a husband, father, and construction worker in Ukraine, wakes up even earlier than his family and job require. What is his new found reason for getting out from under the covers? A book he received from the Russian outreach of ReFrame Ministries.

“I cannot stop reading the book,” Andrey reported to the Russian ministry team. “I wake up early to read a chapter or two in the quiet.”

The book he is referring to is titled The Life from a New Page. This version of the New Testament is a contemporary Russian translation with the objective of reaching young non-believers. Its cover is non-religious and it includes testimonies from famous Ukrainians, making it more approachable.

Andrey contacted the Russian ministry team to thank them for the book. “The curious thing,” conceded Rev. Sergei Sosedkin, BTGMI Russian ministry leader, “was that during our conversation with Andrey we realized that he didn't know that the book he was reading was part of the Bible.”

Surprised to learn that it was, Andrey stated, “I always thought the Bible was some mysterious writing, impossible for a regular person to understand. So when I started reading this book I assumed that it wasn't from the Bible because the language was very clear and spoke to my heart.”

Eagerly, Andrey continues reading his copy of the New Testament. “Now I’m even more excited to read it,” he proclaims after discovering it’s the Bible. As Andrey delights in reading God’s Word, pray that he will grow in his understanding of Christ and continue on his faith journey.
