Sharing Today Devotions With Loved Ones

Peggy and her husband, Jerome, were concerned when their nephew drifted away from Christ, but they found a simple yet effective way to share their faith with him.
“Every day when we sit down for a meal, we open with prayer and close with a devotion,” Peggy shared. “When guests come, we do the same. We don’t make a big deal of it, but we invite the guests to take part in our daily devotional routine.”
Every so often, Peggy and Jerome’s nephew comes by for breakfast. They know he’s stepped away from the Christian faith, but they don’t ask a lot of details. He too gets to be a part of their daily Bible reading routine, which often includes reading the Today devotional, from ReFrame Ministries’ English ministry team. Peggy and Jerome have been reading Today together for more than 50 years
On one such breakfast together, their nephew began to open up about his faith.
“He talked about reading the Bible and shared that he was impressed with the Today,” Peggy said. “He asked if he could get a copy and said it would add to his Bible reading experience.”
Now Peggy and Jerome faithfully send their nephew a printed copy of the Today devotional every two months. They know that this simple action can go a long way with God’s help.
“We just feel that if we send it to him, he can do what he wants with it. I don’t know where it will go or what will happen, but we are sowing the seed and trust God to do the rest.”
“I hope this story inspires you to take that extra step in reaching out to a loved one,” added Kurt Selles, ReFrame’s director.
