Gratitude During Persecution

Across West Africa, we keep hearing the same message from believers who face hardship: gratitude.
What does gratitude look like when life is hard? Most of us picture thankfulness during good times, when things are going smoothly and life feels full. But our team in West Africa has been reminded that gratitude often shines brightest in the middle of struggle.
Gratitude for Strength to Persevere
When Josiane in Burkina Faso tuned in to a recent radio broadcast on the book of Revelation, she didn’t just hear a message. She felt God speaking right into her situation.
Life in her community can be uncertain, and following Christ is not always easy. Yet as she listened, Josiane was reminded that the Lord sees His people and gives them the strength to endure. “I am so encouraged,” she told us.
“My prayer is that God will continue to bless these broadcasts,” shared Josiane.
For Josiane, gratitude is not about everything being simple or safe. It is about recognizing God’s presence with her and thanking Him for the encouragement she receives through His Word.
